Social Funding is a low cost credit program with minimum requirements offered by EPM to its customers (residential and commercial) in order to make it easier for them to purchase products that promote the efficient use of public utilities and the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Electric appliances, gas appliances, materials for home reformations, and other products related to ICT are financed.

Homes are offered credits through the EPM group business card. The productive sector is offered credits through the “Crecer” credit, aimed at small and medium enterprises with an offer that includes funding, training and technical assistance to help businesses improve their productivity and competitiveness.

In 2013, 27,413 new families benefited from the Social Funding Program through the EPM group business card and 123 companies, from the “Crecer“ credit, which totals 132,906 customers.
A total of COP ,297 million in credits was granted, which represented an estimated savings for all customers, compared to the financial system, of COP ,686 million.

The number of beneficiary families was reduced compared to the year 2012, as a result of the reduction in the number of channels, since risks were identified in some of them. Our strategy was reconsidered giving a higher priority to existing customers when it comes to using credits, which represented an increase of 19% compared to the previous year.

The program focused on granting credits for purchasing gas appliances, credits for natural gas conversion (VNG) and VNG loyalty campaigns and “Crecer” credit for a productive funding of SMEs.
